RUMFORD — The Apostolic Church of Rumford is hosting a double anniversary event to commemorate its history in the area. The celebration will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, Feb. 23 and 24, at the church and 6:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 25, in the Rumford Town Hall auditorium.

The church is celebrating its 20-year anniversary since David Willhoite became pastor, along with the 30-year anniversary since being founded.

The original church was founded in 1981 by Pastor Randy Briggs and his wife, Sherry, now of Kristiansand, Norway.

Today, some of the original members and others who have joined them are recognized as the Apostolic Church of Rumford, now pastored by David Willhoite and his wife, Bobbi.

Those connected with the church in some way or associated with the Briggs and/or Willhoite families are invited to attend the event.

Friday evening at the Rumford Town Hall is open to the public, and refreshments will be served. This evening will wrap up the anniversary festivities, featuring guest speakers, special music by pianist Steve Pixler, Fort Worth Texas, and a DVD presentation depicting the local history of the church, followed by an informal reception to meet and talk with Randy and Sherry Briggs.
