LEWISTON — Kay Marie (Peaco) McGann of Gray passed away Sunday, Feb. 20, with her children by her side.

Kay was born in Rumford, Dec. 26, 1938, the daughter of Margret (Fitzmorris) and Russell Ladd. She attended Gray schools and graduated from Pennell in 1958. Kay worked at Pineland Center as a laundry supervisor, until her retirement in 1996. She was well respected for her hard work ethics, fairness and her very caring nature.

During her life, Kay was an avid reader and loved her bus tours and camping. There are not enough words to express how much Kay was loved and respected for her giving and loving nature, always putting others first and never complaining. Animals were another of Kay’s passions, especially abused and neglected animals. She had great compassion and showed this by giving to local animal shelters.

She also loved her church family and close friends and missed them greatly when she could no longer attend due to her illness. Kay will be greatly missed by her children, but they will be forever grateful for such a loving mother.

Survivors include daughters, Faith Jordan and partner, Kevin Ritchie, of Lewiston, Rhonda Nickerson of Lewiston and Debra Duguay and husband, John, of Gray; one son, Bruce Peaco of Lewiston; stepchildren, Karen McGann of Freeport and Roger McGann of Bath; siblings, Anna Huff of Limington, Rene Bernard of Old Orchard, David Bernard of Scarborough and Kippy Bernard of Colebrook, N.H. Kay will also be missed by her eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and her constant canine companion, Angel.

She was predeceased by her parents; stepfather; two brothers, Jimmy and Henry; and her beloved son, Dale Peaco, who passed away in 2006.
