WILTON — Jan Collins and Irving Faunce of the Wilton Blueberry Farm combined with the Franklin County Democratic Committee to raise $870 for the Wilton Free Public Library e-book project.

The proceeds will be applied to making e-books and audio-books available online.

Library Director David Olson said patrons will be able to download e-books and audio-books at the library onto e-book readers or at home onto personal computers.

The fund drive raised money to purchase the software license and to pay the first year’s dues for the service. In addition, the funds have been used to buy two electronic e-book readers that will be made available for loan from the library.

The new service will be in place at the library and will be available online by Tuesday, March 1, according to Olson.
