LEWISTON — Jeanne P. Anctil, 89, of Campus Avenue died Wednesday, Feb. 23, at d’Youville Pavilion with her family by her side.

She was born in Keegan, Feb. 8, 1922, the daughter of Joseph and Edith (Desrosiers) Rossignol. On July 25, 1942, she married the late Jean Paul Anctil, who died on May 16, 1999.

She worked in the local shoe industry as a marker prior to her retirement. She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Ladieis’ of St. Anne’s of Holy Family Parish, Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of Columbus Council 106 of Lewiston.

She enjoyed the television shows “Jeopardy” and “Wheel of Fortune.” She also enjoyed camping, boating, knitting, ceramics, cooking and was an avid Boston Bruins fan. One of her greatest joys in life was caring for all her grandchildren and watching her great-grandchildren grow. She will be so sadly missed for her warm smile and giving heart to all who knew her.

She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ray (Joannne) Therrien of Florida, and Mrs. Joseph (Rita) Pirrotta of Winslow, five sons, Ronald (Sheryl) Anctil of Maryland, Maurice (Susan) Anctil of Connecticut, Marcel (Kris) Anctil of Massachusetts, Ross (Susan) of Lewiston and Daniel (Karen) of Wales; three sisters, Simonne Cote of Lisbon, Elsie Anctil of Connecticut, and Bernice Brousseau of Lewiston; three brothers, Claude Rossignol and Gerard “Emile” Rossignol, both of Lewiston and Patrick Rossignol of North Carolina; 17 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Cecile Dubois and Alma Guerrette; and 10 brothers, Lawrence, Albert, Alfred and Demase Cyr, Elmer, Nelson, Rene, Lewis, Normand and Camille Rossignol; and one grandchild, Cody Anctil.
