Seniors to meet

BETHEL — Bethel Senior Citizens Club will meet for a potluck dinner at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, at the Methodist Church. Members will bring a salad, hot dish or dessert to share and will also bring items for the auction.

Mothers celebrate

MEXICO — The Mexico Mothers Club celebrated its 81st anniversary with a lunch at Brian’s Bistro on Feb. 24 with seven members and a guest present.

Mexico Mothers Club was formed by a group of mothers to promote the welfare of their children, researching child-rearing topics and sharing ideas.

Over the years the club has made contributions to the Mexico Public Library and to organizations such as Santa’s Helpers. They have also sponsored girls to Girls State.

The club meets once a month September through June, with an outing during the summer.

Art scholarship

LIBERTY — Liberty Graphics, printer of environmentally conscious T-shirts, is accepting submissions for its 14th annual $1,000 art scholarship. All high school seniors residing in Maine are invited to submit original works that reflect the theme of “Art and our Natural Environment.”
