A new law that will make people clear the snow off their cars before driving on the roads is a good idea. So is the one that says if you have your windshield wipers on, you must have your headlights on also.

Police do not enforce the wiper law (maybe because they would have to get out in the rain to enforce the law). What makes anyone think that they will stand in slush-covered roads while they have some older lady clean off her car and write a ticket for the infraction?

I would like to know how many people get tickets for not using their headlights when the wipers are on?

I have seen police cars go by cars with no lights on in the rain and the officers never even look at the drivers.

It is not the cars that are a threat to other cars, it is that big truck with all the snow and ice on the flat roof of the trailer that really is the problem.

But it would be a good thing to have the new law. So is the wiper law. But those laws would need to be enforced at all times, not just in fair weather.
