LIVERMORE FALLS — Police arrested a local man Thursday on sex-related charges involving two victims, Chief Ernest Steward Jr. said.

Lt. Thomas Gould arrested Michael Marquis, 46, of Livermore Falls on felony charges of gross sexual assault and unlawful sexual contact, Steward said Monday.

Marquis was released on $3,000 unsecured bail from the police station. He is scheduled to appear on March 31 in Androscoggin County Superior Court in Auburn.

The gross sexual assault charge is alleged to have occurred in 1993 involving a girl, Steward said.

The unlawful sexual contact incident is alleged to have happened in 2009 with a separate victim, he said.
