DIXFIELD — The Western Maine Foothills school board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Dirigo Elementary School in Peru.

The RSU 10 directors’ meeting was originally scheduled Monday but postponed due to the weather.

Among the agenda items are action on an updated systemwide emergency operations plan, and extension of the March 1 deadline for retirement notification.

The school system is expecting some job losses as it develops a budget for 2011-12 and extending the March 1 deadline for retirement notification may result in fewer losses if enough eligible staff take advantage of the deadline extension.

Also, about a dozen people will be appointed to a variety of coaching positions. The board will hear budget requests by the region’s three high school principals and the director of curriculum, instruction and assessment.
