AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — The Maine Senate has confirmed Gov. Paul LePage’s nominees to head Maine’s fish and game department and workers’ compensation board.
Senators voted unanimously Tuesday to confirm Chandler Woodcock of Farmington as commissioner of the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Department. Woodcock is a former state senator who ran unsuccessfully for governor as the Republican candidate in 2006.
The Senate also voted 34-0 to confirm Paul Sighinolfi of Brewer as executive director of the state Worker’s Compensation Board. Republican Sen. Christopher Rector of Thomaston said Sighinolfi is well-qualified for the post, saying he “literally wrote the book we use as the gospel for workers’ compensation in Maine.”
Both of LePage’s nominees also won unanimous committee support.
