I have lived in the town of Strong for 73 years and I am shocked at what is going on. In all of my years, I have never seen the town in such a mess.

As a taxpayer (and I do pay my taxes), I am very concerned. The taxes are too high for such a small town.

By reading the town report, I can see that taxpayers are paying such high taxes because of the school district, for one reason. I have always felt residents were bullied into consolidation and are being bullied yet again to join with SAD 74. I cannot foresee taxes getting lower from either of those endeavors.

Secondly, the town is asking for $25,000 for legal fees this year when previously it had asked for $3,500. I believe that is far too much and due mostly to an issue between two families and should never have involved the town.

Taxpayers of Strong need to wake up, get involved and see what is happening to our town.
