LEWISTON — The Lewiston CareerCenter at 5 Mollison Way continues its series of monthly workshops for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills and increase employability.
Two new workshops have also been added to the regular lineup for March: Preparing for a Job Fair and Gateway to Employment.

* Preparing for a Job Fair: What employers are looking for and how to best present knowledge, skills and abilities to an employer. March 4, March 22 and March 24. Times vary. Registration is required.
* Gateway to Employment: An overview of job search strategy, resumes, interview skills and CareerCenter and community resources available to support job seekers during their job search. At 2 p.m., March 8, at Lewiston Library in addition to every Thursday from 1 to 4 p.m. at the CareerCenter. Call to register. Call 513-3004 to register for the Lewiston Public Library location.
* Job Search Tips for People with a Criminal History: For those with a criminal background, March 4, 9-10 a.m. Registration is required.
* Job Search Skills: Learn how employers advertise and hire, and methods to use in a job search that will lead to success. Facilitated by a CareerCenter staff person. Offered at the Auburn Public Library on March 14, from 2-4 p.m. Call the Auburn Public Library at 333-6640 to register (required).
* Resume Basics and Interview Skills: Explores the basics of resumes and applications. Learn how to make your resume and interview stand out in a positive way. Tough interview questions will be discussed so they can be answered with confidence. March 3 and March 17, from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Registration required.
* Resume and Interview Skills: Will be held at the Auburn Public Library on March 17. Call 333-6640 to register for that location.
* Family Self-Sufficiency: For participants of Lewiston Housing Authority or Section 8. For more information, call 783-8539.
* CareerCenter Training Orientation: An overview of training programs at the CareerCenter, eligibility requirements and information on accessing services. Call for the schedule of meetings and to register (required).
* Essentials of College Planning for Adults: The basic steps for successful college enrollment. Learn about college and trade schools, entrance requirements, readiness and transitional issues of adult students, admissions procedures and financial aid. Review a typical admissions application, request admissions materials and financial aid information from prospective colleges. Bring last year’s income tax forms. Register by calling 1-800-281-3703.
* Career Decision Making: A two-part workshop. On Monday, discussion centers on tools to help make career decisions. On the second day, use the information gained to make career plans. Registration is required. March 7 and 11, or March 21 and 25, 9 a.m. to noon.
* The Lewiston CareerCenter offers orientations for people with disabilities who are considering vocational rehabilitation services. Orientations are held the third Friday of each month. Service providers are also welcome to attend. For more information, call Linda at 753-9057 or TTY 877-796-9833.
* Every Monday at 1 p.m., the Unemployed Professionals Group meets to support unemployed and under-employed professionals. Each week a guest speaker from the business community addresses the group on a topic related to personal or professional development or job search skills.
* An adult education representative will be available March 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 from 10:15-11 a.m. to help explore options to improve job skills and to determine which adult education programs or classes will best meet needs based on interests and career goals.
