POLAND — Earl F. Goding, 84, a resident of 42 Amy St., died early Saturday, Feb. 26, at his residence with his loving wife by his side following a long illness.

He was born in Auburn, Aug. 19, 1926, the youngest son of Ralph and Bertrice (Lord) Goding. Earl attended Auburn schools and was a 1944 graduate of Edward Little High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He married his first wife, Florence Hersey in 1948, and she predeceased him in 1990.

Mr. Goding was very proud to say he was able to have been employed for Morin Brick Yard for 59 years. He retired at the age of 74. Earl was a longtime member of the Court Street Baptist Church

He took great joy in having a big garden every year. He was always generous with sharing the bounty from the garden with his family, church and neighbors. He was a 100 percent John Deere man, who enjoyed using his tractor whenever there was a need for it.

In the winter time, when he was not plowing the snow, he enjoyed being inside doing his jigsaw puzzles.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 20 years, the former Mabel Gilbert, whom he married April 6, 1991 of Poland; one son, Norman Davis and his wife, Paula, of Poland and their three sons, Adam and his wife, Jammie, Kyle, and Nathan; one stepson, Walter Peach and his wife, Joan, of Auburn; three stepdaughters, Joyce Gordon of Lewiston, Nancy Simond and her husband, Phil, of Auburn and Georgia Morin of Lewiston; one great-granddaughter, Grace Davis; five stepgrandchildren, Jason Belleau of Maryland, Stacey Gagnon of Auburn, Kari Poulin, and twins, Jennifer Morin and Jessica Carpentier, all of Lewiston; seven stepgreat-grandchildren, Hunter, Brea, Jordan, Sydney, Jillian, Addison and Benjamin; also surviving are several nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Eldora Collins of Auburn.
