FARMINGTON — Colorful murals portraying the art of guests from Farmington and Salem Warming Centers was posted Tuesday morning in the window of Twice Sold Tales on Main Street.
Guests attending the Warming Centers painted things that inspired them to remind residents of heating needs in Franklin County and the response of ECU-HEAT, Nancy Teel, organizer of the banner event, said.
The ecumenical emergency heating fund, ECU-HEAT, has raised and spent $45,000 this year and served 274 homes, 52 more than last year, with 50 gallons of oil. However, it is “running on fumes now and can still use contributions to help those who are cold and have nowhere else to turn,” Pastor Susan Crane, fund coordinator, said.
Gifts made out to ECU-HEAT may be sent to P.O. Box 147, Farmington, ME 04938. All gifts are acknowledged and are tax deductible.
