LEWISTON — Naturalist Susan Hayward will lead an outing, “Tracking the Stonewalls of the Forest,” from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at Thorncrag Nature Sanctuary, Montello Street.

There will be an opportunity to snowshoe through the sanctuary along the stonewalls and find and identify the tracks left in the late winter snow by animals that use the stonewalls for shelter.

Members of the weasel family, some rodents, and maybe even a reptile will reveal their winter story. Participants should bring snowshoes, although some will be available for use during the trip.

The free event will be hosted by the Stanton Bird Club and is open to the public. Meet at the Thorncrag parking lot on Montello Street. For directions and a map of Thorncrag, visit www.stantonbirdclub.org. For more information, call 784-8307.
