FARMINGTON — After 27 years in Strong, the Living Waters Assembly of God Church has moved to Farmington. The first service at the Wilton Road location begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, March 6.

The congregation of about 70 was outgrowing the Strong church on Norton Hill Road when they were recently offered a chance to purchase the Assembly of God Church in Farmington for the outstanding debt on it, Pastor Steve Bracy said.

“We couldn’t refuse. It is more space and room. Everyone is really excited,” he said.

The Farmington church, last known as Truth Pointe Assembly, had to close about three weeks ago, but for the last two months the Strong congregation has contemplated the move. As members of the same denomination and district, the Strong congregation was offered the site.

Members have worked to clean, paint and make it ready for their first service.

They are considering putting the Strong church building up for sale, he said.

About half of the Living Waters congregation comes from Farmington, he said. Bracy spends much of his work week in ministry in Farmington as a chaplain at Franklin Memorial Hospital and doing chaplain work at Edgewood Manor.

After two sons graduate from Mt. Abram High School in June, the family will move to the parsonage behind the Wilton Road church.

Bracy will begin his 15th year as pastor of the church this summer. Bracy’s wife, Esther, leads the children’s ministry, including a children’s church held during the service.

Along with women’s, men’s and youth ministries, the church offers a bus ministry transporting those without a ride to services, he said.

More information is available by calling Bracy at 491-1205.

The public is invited to join the congregation for their first service.
