FARMINGTON — Police arrested a woman from Strong on Wednesday, charging her in connection with an armed robbery of a convenience store and gas station in December.
Marcia Tracy, 27, is charged felony robbery. She was the driver of a vehicle parked near the Big Apple on Farmington Falls Road while a man robbed it Dec. 21, Farmington Police Detective Marc Bowering said.
The male, who entered the store and robbed it of an undisclosed amount of money and cigarettes, is known to police and charges are pending, Bowering said.
Police said a man wielding a baseball bat with a chain attached entered the Big Apple store at about 5:45 p.m. Dec. 21. He wore a bandanna over his face and fled toward town after the robbery. The store is on the corner of Franklin Avenue and Farmington Falls Road, also known as Routes 2 and 27.
Leads and tips from people who responded to a police request for information helped police solve the robbery, Bowering said.
Tracy was released from Franklin County Detention Center on Wednesday on $200 cash bail. She has a court appearance scheduled for May 20.
