LEWISTON — Elwin W. “Manny” Wing Jr., 58, of the West Record Road, East Poland, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, March 4, at Central Maine Medical Center with family at his side.

He was born in Lewiston on Feb. 13, 1953, a son of Elwin W. Wing Sr. aand Roina F. Harrington. Manny was educated in local schools and graduated from Lewiston High School.

On Oct. 1, 1977, he married the former Linda Sargent of New Gloucester and together they settled in East Poland to raise their family. Manny was currently working in his 32nd year at Poland Spring Bottling Corporation as a maintenance technician and was one of the longest tenured employees at the time of his passing.

He enjoyed fun times with his family and loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. Manny was a member of the 20M Club and was an avid collector of the unusual. He and his brother, John, collected and restored old bicycles and often entered them in antique auto shows, winning several categories along the way. Manny absolutely loved anything to do with Disney. He and his wife, Linda, took annual trips to Disney World and he always enjoyed his very favorite amusement ride, “Pirates of the Caribbean.”

Along with his wife and family, Manny’s other love in life was his music. He was a talented, longtime and well-known local musician who played bass guitar in many local bands such as “Seizure,” “Mean Streak” and “Wacked Cracker.” But he especially enjoyed the last nine years playing music with his brother, John, in a two-man group known as “Los’ Lazy Boys.” He was a loving, devoted and hard-working husband, father, grandfather and brother and a great friend who will be sadly missed.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Linda Wing, of East Poland; his daughter, Veronica Thibault, and husband, Marine GYSGT Daniel Thibault, of North Carolina; his son, Manny Wing, of East Poland; three grandchildren, Allyson, Daniel and Erin Thibault; his mother, Roina Wing, of Oxford; a sister, Lorna Mack, and husband, Michael, of Jacksonville, Fla.; three brothers, Jeffrey Wing and wife, Sandra, of Lewiston, John Wing and wife, Linda, of Auburn, and Timothy Wing and fiancee, Mehgan Bernard, of Oxford; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Elwin W. Wing Sr.
