A 16-year-old Lewiston boy attacked after threats were made on the popular social network Facebook was released from a Portland hospital over the weekend.

Dax Catalano, who was assaulted March 1 outside the Lewiston Mall after school, was discharged from Maine Medical Center this weekend, according to a nursing supervisor at the hospital.

Catalano was with his 17-year-old girlfriend at the China Super Buffet on Tuesday when he was approached by her former boyfriend, another minor and Jacob Estes, 18, of Auburn, and the altercation ensued.

Estes has been charged with aggravated assault in connection with the beating. He made his initial appearance in 8th District Court in Lewiston on Friday.
