KILLEEN, Texas — Hazel B. “Nana” Gray, 71, died March 3 at Metroplex Hospital.

She was born Oct. 1, 1939, in Harrington, a daughter of Pearl Ashe (Davis) and Andrew Ashe.

She enjoyed playing cards and bingo. The one thing she loved the most was spoiling her children and grandchildren. There wasn’t a child who met her and didn’t fall in love. She had a special way with children. Later in life, she worked at various group homes in Mexico and Lewiston, where she cared for adults with special needs.

She is survived by her husband, Milton Gray; daughters, Mary Ellen Knox of Killeen, Texas, and Linda Gray of North Jay; a son, Mark Gray of North Jay; granddaughters, Crystal Fitch of Jay, Amy Cilley of Berwick, Jennifer Gray of Mankato, Minn., and Audrianna Knox of Killeen, Texas; grandsons, Joshua Gray of Portland and Tyler Gray of Portland; three great-granddaughters; sister, Andrea Steele of Massachusetts; and brother, Gary Ashe of New Hampshire.

She was predeceased by her father, Andrew Ashe; mother, Pearl Ashe; brother, Stuart Ashe; and daughter, Karen Gray.
