RUMFORD — Marguerite M. “Maggie” “Git” Gaudet, 85, of Grandview Circle, Mexico, died Saturday, March 5, at Rumford Hospital following a brief illness.
She was born in Mexico on Nov. 10, 1925, a daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Arsenault) Gaudet. She attended St. Theresa’s school and Mexico High School. She was employed for 45 years with Oxford Paper Co., starting in the finishing department and retired as a process control tester.
She was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior. She was a member of the Boise 25- and 40-year club. She enjoyed knitting, fishing and traveling. She also enjoyed her many trips to Foxwoods and PEI, and was an avid Red Sox fan.
Surviving are a sister, Sr. Alma Richard, SSCH of Marlborough, Mass.; a brother, Arthur Gaudet and wife, Emelda, of Gardner, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; and several great nieces and great nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; a brother, Edmond Gaudet; and two sisters, Emelia Roach and Helen Theriault.
