LEWISTON — Pauline G. Martineau, 95, formerly of 6 Lafayette St., Lewiston, died Sunday, March 6, at the d’Youville Pavilion, where she had been a resident for the past 4 1/2 years.
Born Oct. 26, 1915, in Levi, P.Q., Canada, she was the daughter of Albert and Adrenade Begin Samson. On July 31, 1937, she married Conrad A. Martineau, who passed away Oct. 24, 1983.
She was employed doing finish work for Clark Shoe for many years, retiring in 1978. A former member of Saints Peter and Paul Parish, she was an active member of Holy Family Church since 1959. She enjoyed time spent with family and friends, and especially enjoyed playing beano, pinochle and cards, and was a member of the “Golden Girls Card Club.”
Survivors include a son, Raymond Martineau of Lewiston; two daughters, Doris “Dodo” and husband, Paul Stevens, of Portland, and Constance “Connie” and husband, Herbert Jones, of Yorktown, Va.; seven grandchildren, Joanne Duggan, Josh and Barry Williamson, John and Nathaniel Stevens, and Derek and Tyler Burner; and seven great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Sean and Connor Duggan, Corrin and Kaiden Burner, and Nevyn and Norah Williamson.
Besides her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Laurette Williamson, who passed away Dec. 31, 2006; a grandson, Matthew Williamson, 1975; and six brothers and four sisters.
