Ash Wednesday at ‘Green Church’
MEXICO — The Mexico Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (the “Green Church”), will observe Ash Wednesday with a service at 7 p.m., March 9. The choir will provide special music, and Pastor Connie Insley will offer a meditation, “Remorse and Hope,” followed by the Imposition of Ashes.
Ash Wednesday at Dixfield Congregational
DIXFIELD — The Dixfield Congregational Church will have an Ash Wednesday service at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 9. All are welcome.
UCC supper
The men of the Mexico Congregational Church, UCC (the “Green Church”) will prepare and serve a public supper at 5 p.m. on Saturday, March 12. The menu will feature roast beef and homemade pies. Adults, $7; under 12, $3. Takeouts will be available after 5:30 by calling 364-8603.
American Legion meeting
DIXFIELD — Swasey-Torrey Unit #100, American Legion Auxiliary, will meet at 6 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, at the Legion Hall.
Before the regular meeting, an initiation ceremony will be observed. All auxiliary members are welcome, and urged, to attend and if they have never been initiated are invited to participate.
The regular meeting will follow and a light lunch will be served at the close of the meeting.
