UMaine Singers

PARIS — The University of Maine Singers will perform at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School, South Paris. The public is invited to attend. Donations will be accepted at the door.

According to the university website, The University of Maine Singers is a select choir whose members come from all disciplines across campus. Under the direction of Dr. Dennis Cox, the group performs concerts on campus throughout the academic year, tours New England for one week each spring and perform abroad every four years.

Forgiveness sermon

PARIS — Silver Moore-Leamon will lead the worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, March 13, at the First Universalist Church, 36 Pine St., South Paris,  The sermon title will be “Seventy times seven????,” sharing thoughts on forgiveness. The music will be directed by Forest Perkins, the Sunday School will be lead by Renee Wales and the Coffee Hour will follow in Good Cheer Hall. All are welcome.

Waterford Fair meeting

WATERFORD — The Waterford Fair will have their regular meeting at 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, at the Waterford Town Office. Everyone is welcome.

Bridge results

OXFORD — Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge Club met Friday, March 4. A four-table Howell movement was enjoyed.

Finishing first in flight A were Rosemarie Goodwin of Lewiston and Les Buzzell of Auburn, with Dick Allen of New Gloucester and Pete Cummings of South Paris second. Third were Linda Leotsakos of Chelsea and Maryanne Trafton of Sidney.

Finishing first in flight B were Jim Krainin of Windham) and Milt McKeen of Bridgton, with Denny Raymond of Waterford and Hank Sakrison of Poland placing second. Third were Cindy and Bob Kirchherr of South Paris.

The next game will be played at 9:15 a.m. Friday, March 11, at the rec building,  King Street. All bridge players are invited; a partner is guaranteed. For information, call Les Buzzell 783-4153 or 754-9153 or email at buzz116@myfairpoint.net.
