BRUNSWICK — Irvin “Bill” W. Pierce, 63, Meadow Road, Bowdoin died Saturday, March 5, at Mid Coast Hospital.
He was born in Boothbay Harbor, Nov. 16, 1947, a son of Charles Isaac and Arlene Rose (Seigars) Pierce.
He attended Boothbay Harbor schools and was employed at Samples Shipyard in Boothbay Harbor building boats. He was also employed at Smarts Auto Body in Bath, a boatyard in Bristol, Robinhood Marina in Robinhood and at Bath Iron Works until present as a Preservation Technician in the paint department.
On June 25, 1994, he married Sherrie N. Metcalf.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, grandchildren and his great-grandson. He also enjoyed tinkering on cars, going to the beach with his wife, hunting, fishing. He loved ice fishing, the outdoors and clamming.
He is survived by his wife, Sherrie N. Pierce of Bowdoin; two sons, Joe Pierce of Bowdoin and Jeremy Pierce and his wife, Jess, of Bath; one daughter, Shaylynn Heffron and her husband, Richard, of Bath; two sisters; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
