PARIS — The Rape Education and Crisis Hotline (REACH) has begun a new young women’s support group that is meeting from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesdays at the REACH office. Participants are welcome to arrive earlier (from 2 p.m. on) to do homework or hang out.
The group is for women, age 15 to 20, who are healing from past sexual assault. It is being facilitated by REACH Educator and Support Group Facilitator Beth McIntyre.
The meetings focus on healthy relationships and encompass a variety of hands-on creative art projects and other activities, which participants will be involved in developing. Enrollment is revolving, so there is no end date. The free program is designed to fit schedules and is flexible enough so that attendance every week is not mandatory.
REACH is the sexual assault crisis center for Oxford County and the towns of Bridgton and Harrison.
To sign up for the support group or to learn more about it, contact Beth McIntyre at REACH, 743-9777, ext. 6, or e-mail [email protected].
