AUBURN— The Woman’s Literary Union will meet at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 10, at the clubhouse, 19 Elm St. The program will feature local artist, Melanie Ness. She will display some current work and give a brief demonstration.
Ness has worked with watercolors and, more recently, oils. Her favorite subjects include architectural doors and windows, and still life with fruits and vegetables. Her exhibits have included Central Maine Technical College, Auburn Public Library, L-A College-Area Artists 99, Maine Medical Center, Thomas College, Central Maine Medical Center, Turner Center for the Arts and Daunis Fine Jewelry in Portland. She has received purchase prizes and merit awards at local outdoor art shows and has taken art courses at UMO and locally with Irene Duplissis, Carlton Plummer, Jan Kilburn, Michael Ranucci and at MECA with Marguerite Lawlor and Janet Condon.
The public is welcome. If school is cancelled due to the weather the day of the meeting, the meeting will also be cancelled.
