SOUTH PARIS — Gail L. Akin, 73, of South Paris, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, at her home.

She was born in Tom’s River, N.J., Oct. 31, 1937, the daughter of Frank W. Stanwood and Eloner Applegate.

She had been a wife, mother and homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, reading and working in the many flower gardens she had. Before her illness, she loved to be outdoors.

Mrs. Akin is survived by her husband, Steven Swan of South Paris; two daughters, Donna Quintanilla and husband, Alex and Della McFerren and husband, Greg; three sons, Dale Kissick and wife, Kate, Dana Kissick and wife, Laurie and Darryl Kissick; grandchildren, Heather, Jon, Jason, Andrew, Simon, Rachel, Josh, Brianna, Oliver, Emma, Conner, Molly and Kyle; great-grandchildren, Bailey, Keegan, Elijah, Rhylin, Charley, Tanner, Reighlyn and an unborn baby child.

She was predeceased by a son, David W. Kissick; and her late husband, John Mills Akin.
