ROXBURY — Icy road conditions caused an Arizona driver to roll his pickup truck onto its side on Route 120 on Thursday afternoon, state police said.

Driver Raymond Thompson, 63, of Phoenix wasn’t injured, Maine State Trooper Paul Casey said early Thursday evening.

The accident happened at about 4:52 p.m. when Raymond was driving north on Route 120, also called Roxbury Notch Road.

Casey said the rear-end of the 2004 Ford Ranger skidded across the road, causing the front of the vehicle to strike a snowbank on the opposite side of the road.

He said the truck then flipped over onto the passenger side in a traffic lane.

Raymond got out by himself.

“There was still snow and slush on the road,” Casey said. “It was slippery.”

Traffic was limited to one lane for an hour. He estimated damage to the truck, towed by Dan’s Automotive, at $4,000.
