ST. HYACINTHE, Quebec — Sister Emerentienne Richer (St. Camille-d-Lellis) of the Congregation of the Sisters of Charity of St. Hyacinthe, passed  away on March 10, at the age of 106.

She was born in Fortierville, Quebec, Aug. 18, 1904. She entered the community on March 19, 1925, and made profession on Oct. 4, 1927. She served in Manchester, N.H., as a teacher in her early years, then in Lewiston as a dietitian and as a dietary teacher for the student nurses.

She was also superior of the sisters in North Smithfield, R.I., at St. Antoine Hospice. She was also stationed in Sherbrooke, Quebec, as cook and dietitian, at St. Vincent-de-Paul Hospital. Coming back to Manchester from 1968 to 1989, she varied her activities until she came back to the Mother House in 1996 to 2009, where she continued to knit and to read. She could give a detailed review of what she was reading and had a very good memory for her age. She became ill in 2009 and passed away March 10.
