VFW meeting

LEWISTON — The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will hold their monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 15, at the Multi-Purpose Center.

The agenda includes upcoming events. All officers and post members are encouraged to attend.

Eligible veterans wishing to join the post should contact Armand Bussiere at 688-2291.

Poetry at Ricker Library

POLAND — Retired biology professor, novelist, poet and nature lover, Robert Chute will be this month’s guest speaker for the Ricker Library noontime series, Check It Out!. The group will meet in the Community Room of the Poland library, from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16. Chute, a Poland resident, will introduce his new collection of poems and photographs, “Wildness within Walking Distance: Poland Spring, Maine.” Upper Range Pond and Bragdon Hill are featured in this body of work.

Everyone is welcome to attend this function, sponsored by Friends of Ricker Library. Guests may bring their own brown bag lunches or they may order a lunch prepared by Square Root Natural Foods. To find out about selections and/or to order, call the library at 998-4390 by noon on Tuesday, March 15. Lunches will be delivered to the library and can be paid for there.
