LEWISTON — Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering to help home care patients and their families.

The training classes will focus on volunteer opportunities that support patients receiving home care services as they recover from illness, surgery or a new medical condition, said Kathy Baillargeon, volunteer supervisor.

Grocery volunteers shop and deliver food and medications on a regular basis to patients, Visiting volunteers provide companionship and share in activities such as reading, card games or music, and transportation volunteers drive patients to appointments.

The four-hour training class will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, at Parkview Hospital, 329 Maine St., Brunswick. Preregistration is required.
