LEWISTON — The Franco-American Heritage Center plans to honor Gov. Paul LePage Wednesday.

The reason: his heritage.

As Maine’s first Franco-American governor, LePage’s election will be celebrated at the center’s International Week of the Francophone events.

Wednesday evening’s celebration will include a concert by Montreal pianist Dominica Merola and a wine and cheese reception.

LePage, a Lewiston native, is expected to make a short address before the concert, scheduled for 8 p.m.

Other events around the state include inductions into the Maine Franco-American Hall of Fame in Augusta and language immersion programs in Portland.
