RANGELEY — A second Polaris snowmobile has been reported stolen within a two-week period, police Chief Dennis Leahy said Sunday.

The white, 2009 Polaris, Model 800 Dragon, owned by a Swansea, Mass., resident was parked waiting to be repaired outside at Lakeside Convenience and Marina on Main Street, he said.

It was taken between 9 p.m. Friday night and 8 a.m. Saturday.

The first machine reported stolen was taken between 9:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, and 12:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, from the lot of Boss Power Equipment on Main Street.

A cable had been cut in that instance to get the machine, Leahy said.

Police officers have been asked to be more vigilant, he said.

Leahy has told them if they see a machine of the same make, model and color to stop it and identify it, Leahy said.
