Texas Hold’em

HARRISON — The Harrison Lions Club will hold a Texas Hold’em tournament from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the club den on Main Street. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. The entry fee is $55. Seating is limited. Refreshments will be available. Proceeds will benefit the Jeff Worster family.

Flea market

LOVELL — There will be a flea market and bake sale from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the United Church of Christ, Route 5, Center Lovell.

Harlem Superstars

PARIS — The Harlem Superstars are coming to Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School at 7 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, to play the Oxford Hills Dream Team.

Event supports the Oxford Hills Athletic Boosters. Tickets are $7 per person in advance or $8 at the door and can be purchased at Bessey Motor Sales in Paris, Books-n-Things in Norway, Mallard Mart in Norway and Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in the athletic department.

Chinese auction

OXFORD — A Chinese auction will be held on Saturday, March 19, at the Advent Christian Church on Route 26, by Walmart. Doors open at 10 a.m., with drawings at 1 p.m. Winners need not be present.

Refreshments will be available. There will be more than 100 items raffled and the one dollar table with a 50/50.

Bean supper

NORWAY — A public bean supper will be held from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday March 19, at Norway Masonic Hall, 9 Temple St.

Four types of homemade beans will be served, along with hot dogs, cole slaw, bread, beverages and homemade pies. All you can eat. Adults, $7; children under 12, $4.

Ganderia benefit

PARIS — A public supper will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, March 19, at South Paris Fire Station. Menu includes homemade lasagna, salad, bread and dessert. The supper is a fundraiser for the Ganderia Middle School in Oxford. $8 per person, $4 ages 4-12, no charge for children age 3 and under.

Zumba for a cure

PARIS — A zumba fundraising event will be hosted by Paris Elementary School’s Relay for Life team from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, in the school gym, 4 Hathaway Road, South Paris. A tutorial will be given from 1 to 1:15 p.m.

Cost is $10 per person, which includes one hour of zumba with instructor Rachel Ross and door prizes. Bring sneakers, water and towel. All proceeds will benefit the American Cancer Society.

Waterford supper

WATERFORD — The Waterford World’s Fair will hold a potluck supper from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19, at the Harrison United Parish Church, Main Street. Menu includes beans with pulled pork or hot dogs, chop suey, macaroni and cheese, corn bread and rolls, cole slaw, drink and homemade pies. The price is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12.

Rotary buffet

BETHEL — Rotary Club of Bethel will hold their spring all-you-can-eat buffet from 7:30 to 11 a.m. on Sunday, March 20, at Ordway Dining Hall, Gould Academy, Church Street. Tickets are $8 for adults and $3 for children. Advanced tickets can be purchased for $7 from club members, The Inn at Rostay, River View Resort and Mt. Mann Jewelers. Proceeds benefit the club’s community projects and scholarships.

Sap collecting

WATERFORD — The Farmers Draft Horse Club is sponsoring a maple sap collecting contest at the Waterford Fairgrounds on Sunday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The team of horses and driver will collect the sap and then it will be weighed. The teams will also be judged on showmanship of the team and how well they work together. There is no entry fee and the Farmers Horse Club will award prize money to the first five teams with the best total score. Participants must be a member of the club but can join that day.

Keith McAllister will have a sap boiling demonstration while the events are taking place.

The Waterford Fair mobile food wagon will be serving pancakes with Maine-made maple syrup, bacon, homemade doughnuts, coffee and hot chocolate starting at 8:30 a.m. At noon the food wagon will serve light refreshments.
