BETHEL — Bethel native Sarah Rackliffe will describe her experiences and adventures in Costa Rica and share slides in the next Down Home Maine series from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 24, at Gould Academy’s McLaughlin Auditorium.

Rackliffe spent last year as a World Teach volunteer, arriving in a tiny rural village in Costa Rica with little knowledge of Spanish. She lived with a Costa Rican family nearby and taught English to primary level students in the one-room schoolhouse.

The Down Home Maine series is sponsored by the Western Mountains Senior College. WMSC offers multi-session courses, workshops, outdoor activities, special events and social gatherings to members aged 50 and over. Programs are open to the public free of charge; donations are accepted to offset Senior College expenses. Light refreshments are available. For more information, contact WMSC co-chairwoman, Bonnie Pooley, at 381-7944. Google Western Mountains Senior College to reach the website.
