Defense shooting

Objective: Lateral movement across the blueline for a shot

Key elements: Lateral skating with the puck, shooting, controling the pass and puck

Organization: Coach is positioned in any corner of the rink with pucks. The defenseman positioned at the sideboards, just outside the blueline. One defenseman positioned inside the blueline receives a pass from the coach, pulls the puck across the blueline for a point shot on goal.

Variations: Coach can throw the puck to the forehand or backhand or off the boards or up in the air for the defenseman to control.

Goalie: Follow the whole sequence to include skating, get a feel with your positioning for the long shot.

Enjoy the drill and have fun learning!
