NEW VINEYARD — Rhonda and Bill Pierce of New Vineyard are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter, Erin May Pierce of Bethel, to Laurin Frederick Parker also of Bethel, son of Harriette A. Parker and Frederick G. Parker of Patten.

Miss Pierce graduated from Mt. Abram High School in 1999 and attended the University of Southern Maine and the University of Maine at Farmington. She has been employed at Gould Academy as a member of the Admissions Department since 2006 and has also served as a varsity coach in basketball and softball.

Mr. Parker graduated in 1993 from Katahdin High School in Patten and then earned a bachelor’s degree from Elmira College. He is currently employed at Gould Academy as a member of the Academic Skills Center and serves as an instructor and coach in their outdoor programs. He also has taught English, educational technology, history and photography and prior to joining Gould’s faculty in 2006, taught in the Bingham Public School System. He has also worked as a construction specialist and a graphic designer.

The couple first met in 2004 in Rangeley and they enjoy spending time in the great outdoors fishing and canoeing and just being together. The couple will celebrate their love in a June 25 wedding with their family and friends in Bethel.
