MEXICO — Richard O. Coolidge, “Dick,” 80, of Mexico, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 20.

He was born Aug. 8, 1930, in Dixfield, the youngest son of Harry and Alma Coolidge.

Dick was a retired welder, having worked at the paper mill in Rumford for many years. In the 1960s, Dick drove the pink “190” at Oxford Plains Speedway and Speedway 95.

He is survived by his wife, Syrena Rosenbohm Coolidge, of Mexico; a daughter, Janice Coolidge; a stepson, Larry Davis and his wife, Carol of Hermon; a stepdaughter, Durita Lynn “Rita” Smith and her husband, Ronnie of Temple; a sister, Jean Brann of the Wilton area; six grandchildren, Joseph Davis, Kayla Frye, Durita Lynn “Lynn” Smith, Diane Dunham, Ron Smith Jr., and William Smith; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife of nearly 50 years, Phyllis Carter Coolidge; a son, Richard Coolidge Jr.; and siblings, Lester, Chet, and Ken Coolidge and Dot Dakin, Mary Collins and Beatrice Hanson.
