TURNER — Carol H. Long, 69, of Turner died peacefully at her home on Saturday, March 19.

She was born in Hartford, Conn., Feb. 13, 1942, the daughter of Irwin and Helen (Weigold) Maine.

Carol was a loving wife to Darrel P. Long, whom she married on Aug. 6, 1965, and mother to seven children and caregiver to more than 50 infant foster children throughout her years. She was a recipient of WCSH Jefferson Award for outstanding infant foster care.

Some of Carol’s hobbies included collecting porcelain dolls, antique tea cups and saucers and silver spoons from around the country.

She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel; her seven children, five sons, Jeffery D. Long of Boston, David T. Long and his wife, Kim, of Greene, Brian A. Long of Turner, Joseph P. Long and his wife, Kelly, of Henderson, Nev., and Daniel D. Long of Lewiston; two daughters, Suzanne J. Levesque and her husband, Paul, of Leeds and Cindy Long of Terryville, Conn.; 11 grandchildren, Jessica, Paula, Peter and Joshua Levesque, Rena-Lee Marriulle, Ashton, Sophie, Jeremy, Megan, Emma and Hannah Long; and four great-grandchildren, Erin, Austin and Autumn Tripp and Reese Nagy.

She will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
