Gerard Rioux retired from the Lewiston Fire Department recently, having served 25 years. He started and was involved in representing the firefighters in distributing gifts for needy families at Christmas. He was chairman for the Roland Levesque Memorial Scholarship Fund, which gave a scholarship to a Lewiston High School student who was going on to college to pursue a firefighter or EMT degree. Rioux is shown with his wife, Mona, who retired three days after he did. She worked for 37 years as an X-ray technician at Central Maine Medical Center.
