FARMINGTON — The Mt. Blue Regional School District Music Department has announced March concerts.
All concerts are held in the Mt. Blue High School gym at 7 p.m. These concerts are a culmination of rehearsals in the second trimester of the school’s academic year and are a part of the Music Educators National Conference Music in Our Schools Month.
Wednesday, March 23, will feature the district wide orchestras under the direction of Nancy Beacham and Steven Muise.
The grades four, five and six orchestras from the Academy Hill, Cape Cod Hill and Cascade Brook schools, in addition to the Mt. Blue Middle School and Mt. Blue High School, will perform. Musical selections by the Middle School Fiddlers and Franklin County Fiddlers will also be performed.
The district Band-a-Rama will be presented on Thursday, March 24, under the direction of Karen Beacham and Darryl Pike. Featured will be the district wide fifth-grade beginner band, the sixth-grade intermediate band and the Mt. Blue Middle and Mt. Blue High School bands. Also performing are the middle and high school jazz bands.
Following each concert the Mt. Blue Music Boosters will sell ice cream for $1 a bowl. Flavors will include vanilla rainbow, cherry amaretto with chocolate swirl, chocolate rain forest crunch and raspberry swirl.
Proceeds from the ice cream sale will go toward the Boosters summer music scholarship program. Forms will be available at the ice cream social and also from each school’s music teacher.
