RUMFORD — It might be nice to have a tasty three-course meal in a ballroom without a murder happening, but that won’t be the case at 49 Franklin St. on Friday and Saturday, April 1-2.
“The Mystic Murder Mystery,” written by local playwright Nancy Demings, will unfold around diners with songs, surprises and a murder. Nostradamus, Merlin the Magician and the King of the Gypsies will come together to help stop the Mayan prediction of a doomsday.
Unfortunately, some of their friends are not very helpful. Madam Zelda, the fortune teller insists on being paid for her predictions, Isis wants to be the star of the show and Tiki, the voodoo priestess who controls a magic mirror, is more interested in wooing the King of the Gypsies.
A cast of 10 will present the murder-mystery, dropping plenty of clues for audience members to figure out whodunit.
Dinner will include homemade garlic and cheese bread bites, cheese and pepperoni crustinis; herb roasted pork loin smothered in gravy, Italian cheese stuffed shells in a homemade meat sauce, Caesar salad, garlic and butter roasted potatoes, Italian-style green beans, baked bread and Jell-O swirl white cake with a dollop of Cool Whip.
Dinner theater tickets, $30 per person, are available at Bartash’s and All That Jazz on Congress Street and online at 49franklin.com. For more information, call 369-0129.
