LEWISTON — LAYHL Midget Hockey Tryouts for the 2011 season will be held on Sunday, April 10 at Androscoggin Bank Colisee.
The midget season will run from mid-August to mid-November. There will be a U18 Tier II team and a U16 Tier II team, and one or more Tier III teams depending on how many players try out. The more, the merrier.
If you are 18 years old or younger and would like to compete in this year’s LAYHL Midget Program, you are encouraged to try out.
Evaluations for U16 players (born in 1995, 1996, or 1997) begin at 8:20 a.m.
Evaluations for U18 players (born in 1993 or 1994) begin at 9:45 a.m.
All players must bring their application and proof that they are registered with USA Hockey.

All participants will be assessed a $15, non-refundable fee prior to tryout.
Studio celebrates one year
LIVERMORE FALLS — United Fitness and Martial Arts is celebrating its one-year anniversary by bringing in Grandmaster Robert Hoe on April 8. Hoe will teach a class from 6 to 7:30 p.m. that is open to the public.
In its first year, the dojo had more than 50 promotions in rank. Fifteen students competed at the Family Tournament in Winthrop in February.

Oxford spring registration
OXFORD — Oxford baseball/softball/T-Ball registration for the 2011 season will be held Thursday, March 24 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, March 26 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Station House Community Center.
Participant ages are as follows: T-Ball, 5-6 years, as of April 1; Baseball, 7-15 years as of April 30; Softball, 7-18 years as of Jan. 1.
Registration fees are Single $25; Family of 3 kids or more $60 (includes cost of cap).
