LEEDS — The Rural Community Action Ministries will hold its first Auction for Action on Saturday, March 26, at the Leeds Community Church, 23 Church Hill Road. The auction will raise money to help renovate a newly-acquired home for elderly residents living in the 13 different towns in Central Maine served by RCAM.
For more than 40 years, RCAM has provided services to the vulnerable and rural families for towns within the counties of Oxford, Androscoggin and Kennebec. They provide family homeless shelters; they support and maintain 13 food banks. RCAM coordinates volunteers to help outreach services like transportation to medial treatments and other appointments and monitor home repair needs for safety and other health factors for the elderly and disabled.
There will be a silent auction and preview of the live auction items from 6 to 7:30 p.m. while folk and Celtic music is performed by The Gawler Family and Greg Boardman. Hors d’œuvre will be available
Maine humorist Gary Crocker will serve as auctioneer from 7:30 to 9 p.m.
Tickets are $10 per person, children under 12 are free, and tickets can be purchased at the offices of RCAM or at the door.
