LEWISTON — The U.S.S. Canberra CAG-2 Reunion Association will conduct a silent prayer at noon Wednesday, March 30, at the Vietnam marker located on the Lewiston side of the Vietnam Memorial Bridge.

The prayer will remember all those who lost their lives during the Vietnam War, as well as those who were wounded or held as prisoners of war. All veterans and the public are invited.

The U.S.S. Canberra CAG-2 was deployed to Vietnam five times between 1965 and 1969. The Canberra carried terrier missiles and fired them at North Vietnam until it was relieved by the battleship U.S.S. Missouri. All the U.S. navy ships were involved in the action against North Vietnam and the area they used for bombardment called “Shot Gun Alley.”
