POLAND — Amanda Scripture, a local cheerleader for Planet Cheer Galaxy International Open Level 5 Team, has made the United States All-Girl Cheerleading squad for the third year in a row.
Team USA has competed in the International Cheer Union (ICU) World Cup for the past two years and consecutively have won gold. The ICU World Cup is currently the highest level of International competition in cheerleading and the stepping stone towards recognition as an Olympic sport.
Scripture is required to fund-raise as a member of the team and will be hosting an Inspirational Presentation night to talk about her personal journey towards becoming a world champion. Included will be details on the change from an elite-level gymnast to a cheerleader, personal struggles, the thrill of making the United States team, and pictures and videos from the ICU Performances.
Her presentation, “Becoming a World Champion-Personal Story,” will be held Friday, April 1 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Poland Community School, 1457 Main St.
