AUBURN — The Corporate and Community Services Department at Central Maine Community College will offer a course on workplace mentoring from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesdays, April 6 through 20. Cost of $175 includes materials.
Participants will learn how to transform “helpfulness” into a competitive advantage by developing an effective workplace mentoring program.
Participants will listen, interact and practice to learn the six building blocks of a workplace mentoring model, how to use the building blocks to tailor a simple plan they can replicate in-house and practice giving and receiving mentoring.
With the tools learned, owners, executives, managers, supervisors and human resources professionals can install a culture of mutual learning.
The course will be facilitated by Susan deGrandpre. She has a master’s degree in education from the University of Southern Maine and a BA in sociology from the University of Massachusetts.
She has been adjunct faculty at St. Joseph’s College and Southern Maine Community College. Her corporate experience includes L.L. Bean and Unum where she held leadership positions in customer service. She started her consulting business in 1999, specializing in collaborative consulting.
