AUBURN — Marguerite B. Hamann, 98, of Greene, died Wednesday, March 23, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice.

She was born in Beauceville, P.Q., Canada, Aug. 31, 1912, the daughter of Eloi and Josephine Larochelle Hamann. Educated in local and Canadian schools, she worked at the Continental Mill for many years, and then worked for several years at both Dori Shoe and the Lown Shoe Co.

A member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, she was an avid quilter, enjoyed reading French novels, and loved vacationing at Wells Beach.

Survivors include two sisters, Jeanne Pelletier of Caribou and Irene Gagne of Greene; two sisters-in-law, Annette Hamann of Lewiston and Anita Levesque of Lewiston; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predeceased by four brothers, Robert, Henri, Jean-Louis and Emilien Hamann; and two sisters, Alice Hamann and Germaine Dulac.
