PARIS — Nomination papers are available for the June 7 election and six seats are up for grabs.

On the Board of Selectmen, seats held by Chairman Raymond Glover and Selectman Lloyd “Skip” Herrick are open.

On Wednesday Glover said he won’t be running again after serving 18 years on the board.

“I’ve retired, and my wife is talking about retiring,” Glover said. “I just need to free up the time.” He said he felt confident the town will be in good hands without him.

Herrick’s seat is also in the running, and the former sheriff and Paris Police Chief said Wednesday he isn’t running again either. He said he felt like he made a difference in the term he served.

He didn’t rule out running again in the future. “For right now I guess I’m going to do this three years and let somebody else run.”

Herrick served 16 years as the Oxford County sheriff. Before that, he was chief of the Paris Police Department for 10 years.

According to the Paris town clerk, one resident has returned a nomination form for a selectman seat so far.

George Coffren and Henry Raymond are up for re-election for the SAD 17 Board of Directors.

On the Paris Utility District Board, Mark Bancroft and Peter Bickford’s seats are up for re-election.

Anyone wishing to run can pick up a nomination paper at the town office. Nominees must get at least 25 signatures of registered Paris voters and return the form by April 25 to be included on the June 7 town meeting ballot.
