DIXFIELD — Troop 329, Girl Scouts, have been meeting in the Dixfield Congregational Church Fellowship Hall for the past several years.
The girls have provided music for worship services, and gatherings have included crafts, cooking, sleepovers, trip planning, babysitting, a tea, rocket making, studying space science and learning about leadership and the environment.
April will include Easter egg “manufacturing.”
“The egg serves as a symbol of birth and rebirth and the hope found in the resurrection of Christ,” said the Rev. John Gensel, pastor.
Seven girls, four leaders and members of the church will spend two days making Easter eggs for sale to the community. The recipe comes from a church in Pennsylvania that makes and sells almost 4,000 eggs each year. The Girl Scouts hope to sell 600 this year.
Eggs are a half pound and come in coconut, peanut butter, chocolate, chocolate nut and butter cream – each dipped in chocolate and boxed for presentation. Eggs will be available on Sunday, April 17, and will cost $5 each.
Pre-orders will be helpful. Contact any Scout or call Diane Ray at 597-3092.
